Notes from the Jurassic Park chronology
This episode takes place concurrently with the events of
Jurassic World.
Didja Know?
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is a CG-animated TV
series that aired on the
Netflix
streaming service from 2020-2022 for five seasons and one
special. While the first couple of episodes take place before
and during the events of
Jurassic World,
the rest of them take place shortly after that film, and about
three years before the events of
Fallen Kingdom. Netflix is currently producing episodes
of a sequel series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, whose
first season began in May 2024.
Each episode of the series opens with the words "A Netflix
Original Series" over what appears to be a T. rex footprint in
the jungle mud.
The
Universal Pictures logo that appears after this is altered
from the usual to have the Earth globe with a continent that
looks very roughly like the supercontinent Pangaea may have
looked in the Triassic-Jurassic periods of the Mesozoic era,
200-150 million years ago.
As the Universal Earth globe spins, a second "continent"
seen is actually a stylized
DreamWorks Pictures logo (a boy sitting with a fishing pole
on the crescent Moon), followed by the
Amblin Entertainment logo.
The dinosaur that bursts out of the bursts out of the
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous gates at the beginning of
the opening titles of each episode is a Tyrannosaurus rex,
possibly the infamous Rexy herself, but we don't see its right
side close enough to see if it has Rexy's raptor scars incurred
in Jurassic Park.

Didja Notice?
Baby ankylosaur Bumpy is significantly larger here than he was at
birth in "Secrets". It has been
established in previous stories that the Jurassic Park/World
dinosaurs are genetically engineered to grow swiftly.
Finding the ACU (Asset Containment Unit) van, Darius asks if
anyone knows how to drive and Sammy remarks they all drove
gyroshperes and it can't be that different. But Ben corrects her
that the gyrospheres had joysticks and a Jimmy Fallon tutorial
on how to drive them. The tutorial was not seen in the
Camp Cretaceous series, but was seen in
Jurassic World.
Jimmy Fallon is a real world comedian and host of the late night
comedy talk show, The
Tonight Show,
in the U.S. since February 2014. Fallon also hosts video
introductions that play during the bus rides around Universal
Studios, Hollywood.
At 13:35, a number of blue barrels
are seen sitting alongside the road near the genetics lab.
Traditionally, blue barrels indicate food storage. The mountain
seen behind the lab here may be Mount Sibo, the volcano that
will erupt in
Fallen Kingdom.
